AP Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our fast paced growing team. This position will be primarily responsible for accounts payable cycle processing, and assist with/perform other accounting duties as required.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
• Process accounts payable; review, verify and match payment documentation.
• Assist with payment and invoice matching for check runs.
• Utilize automated accounting system to enter accounts payable claims and process payments.
• Assist with set-up and maintenance of credit with vendors.
• Maintain accounts payable filing system and verifies compliance with vendor records and insurance.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Respond to inquiries and assist in support and relief to other accounting functions.
• Works with Project Managers to ensure accurate recording and payment of sub-contractors, tracking of lien waivers and insurance.
• Become proficient and effective with the company’s ComputerEase accounting software.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• High Volume, strict deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable and vendor relationships
• Construction experience is preferrable.

Plant Manager, Fibers


- Dadeville (AL)

The Fibers Plant Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Fibers manufacturing plant including overseeing production, ensuring the plant consistently runs efficiently yet safely, and meeting all quality control standards.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
● Lead the manufacturing functions in the plant on all shifts to ensure on-time production and shipment of products and materials, including extrusion plant personnel scheduling and full management.
● Manages overall responsibilities of product quality including testing, yield, loss and waste metrics and quality & compliance procedures.
● Lead efforts to minimize waste materials from the plant going to the landfill - with the ultimate goal of zero material disposal to landfill facilities.
● Full personnel management and compliance including training, coaching and disciplinary actions.
● Partner with transportation management to ensure that product is prepared accordingly and shipped on time to meet the needs of the business and customer.
● Responsible for all in plant documentation management and compliance with city, state and federal safety regulations.
● Creates and manages employees work schedules including managing labor costs based on budgets
● Ensures safety standards are being followed and equipment is being operated correctly and safely by all plant employees.
● Manages the overall financial responsibilities and activities of the Fibers plant and controls expenditures.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position works in a plant/manufacturing setting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is frequently required to sit for an extended period of time (7+ hours), look at a computer screen for an extended period of time, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate a computer, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. This position may be required to lift 16-25 pounds and carry that weight more than five feet.

When in the plant/manufacturing floor this position may have additional physical requirements to include but are not limited to standing, climbing, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, and crouching. This position may be exposed to hazardous/moving equipment or loud machinery, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and/or allergens, etc. This position will be required to wear the following protective clothing, gear, equipment and devices which include but are not limited to safety vest, glasses, and ear protection.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time, exempt position. This position may require working additional hours outside normal hours as needed to accomplish objectives and advance project work.

Qualifications / Skills

Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
● Ten or more (10+) years’ manufacturing experience is preferred
● Five or more (5+) years’ management experience.
● Possess a certificate of completion for OSHA Training is preferred.

● Strong knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management.
● Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members, preferably through consensus building. Detailed knowledge of various employment laws, best management practices, and employee relations. Ability to inspire confidence and develop trust.

Hellas Construction, a self-performing Civil Sports Construction Company is looking for an experienced full-time Estimator to support our Corporate Headquarters office . Qualified candidates will possess 4-5 prior years’ experience estimating civil construction projects. Projects range from $500M-$5M.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Construction document review, performing accurate takeoff for track, turf and civil construction related quantities
• Submitting requests for information to clarify existing conditions and proposed improvement, submission to responsible design professional in a timely manner
• Developing materials and subcontractor resources and relationships in all market area

Paralegal Legal Assistant


- Austin (TX)

Looking for a career change into a Civil Sports Construction Company while utilizing your legal skills and background.

You will be assigned a region/territory to support designated Business Development Managers to successfully procure work. Primary responsibility will include heavy administrative coordination in putting together quotes, RFP's, RFQ's, hard bids, competitive sealed proposals to secure construction contracts with schools and municipalities. Attention to detail will be critical as well as meeting stringent deadlines.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Support Business Development Managers in procuring work to the extent needed
• Reviewing, reading and understanding each job specification book received (extensive) in order to submit bid information correctly
• Responsibility for timely ordering of plans and specifications from architects, owners and/or on-line plan rooms
• Support assigned region by searching for qualified sales leads on a daily/weekly basis using web-based lead services
• Constant Communicate with architects and owners/clients during the procurement process as needed to ensure accurate bidding documents
• Communicate and coordinate with sales team regarding upcoming projects, pre-bid meetings and bid submittals
• Responsible for the organization and final presentation of bid documents.
• Support estimators ensuring up to date plans, specifications, and addenda are received and filed
• Assist in contacting suppliers/vendors for pricing as needed
• Receive, organize and review quotes as needed in support of estimators
• Prepare bid submittals neatly, professionally and in a timely manner

Requirements:

• College degree desired, but not required
• Previous experience with reviewing and understanding construction drawings and specifications in order to prepare bidding materials.

• Intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Applications (Word and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent writing skills as this role serves as the technical writer for all document submissions.

Project Manager

Position will be located in our Washington Mountlake, Terrace office. Qualified candidates must possess either a Construction Science or Civil Engineering degree plus experience in the heavy highway, parks and recreation arena or any other civil construction specialty is what the position will require. The Project Manager is responsible to take ownership of the Project Profit and Loss and to ensure that all civil projects are well planned and successfully executed on time and under budget. Position will manage multiple assigned projects from award through project close-out. The project manager will also be responsible for understanding all aspects of operations. Works cohesively with Superintendents, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Engineers, Architects and Clients to ensure all project requirements are carried out successfully.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Manage all aspects of the assigned projects from start through closeout.
• Manages multiple projects requiring effective interaction and coordination with internal company departments as well as external parties.
• Responsible for the project setup, budget entry into company computer software, issuance of purchase orders for all materials and maintain project file.
• Complete responsibility of creating the master project schedule with proper project documents to owner (including but not limited to contracts, bonds, insurance, SWPPP documents, etc), subcontractor packets and preparation, processing and tracking of submittals and shop drawings

Senior Accountant

Assist the Accounting and Finance Team in operational and transactional accounting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in monthly close processes including the preparation of journal entries
• Assists Finance Team with daily accounting activities
• Updates Financial Schedules such as debt and depreciation
• Processes inter-company accounts payable and payroll billings
• Assists with preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages
• Manages inventory control, including tracking, data entry and reviewing inventory transactions

Bilingual Project Manager


- Austin (TX)

Hellas Construction is now accepting resumes for a full-time Bilingual Project Manager to join our Company. Most project durations range from two to six weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Project Manager is responsible to take ownership of the Project Profit and Loss and to ensure that all track projects are well planned and successfully executed on time and under budget.
• Position will manage multiple assigned projects from award through project close-out. The project manager will also be responsible for understanding all aspects of operations. Works cohesively with internal Superintendents and Foremen to ensure all project requirements are carried out successfully.
• Develop and update several times a week the Master Track Schedule for the company.
• Ensure that every project is on the schedule and all preparations have been made to ensure accurate, timely completion of project. Publish the construction plan/ Work Order, order materials in advance, ordering insurance and bonds, sending submittals and compiling all work order information.
• Work with Internal Superintendents and job crew to ensure they have all necessary materials, equipment and supplies needed on an on-going basis.
• Manage projects by evaluating resource utilization, constantly assessing changed conditions, regularly reviewing progress by examining project specifications and drawings, daily metrics/job boards, photo streams, and field reports. Actively record and report progress through accurate schedule updates.
• Prepare Weekly Job Reports (WJRs), conduct project level audits of all documentation, including job costs, POs, subcontracts, and schedule to better maximize efficiency in future projects.
• Invoice monthly for work completed. Prepare close out documentation for all projects.
• Review all projects completed in the last two months to clean out invalid Purchase Orders.
• Conduct a monthly Work In Process (WIP) review at the end of each month. Manage all monthly pay estimates including pencil, initial, and final submissions.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years previous experience as a project manager in a construction company. Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• PMP certification a plus but not required.
• Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication are a must, including the ability to interface with others, regardless of job title or position within the company, in a positive, approachable, and professional manner. This includes external contacts such as client-owners, vendors, and engineering professionals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project. Ability to learn other functional software, which may include ComputerEase, mJobtime, Procore, and Visio.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, and accounting principles and best practices. Experience with inventory control.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Asset Manager


- Austin (TX)

Hellas Construction Inc., headquartered in Austin, TX, is nationwide leading the industry in sports complex facility construction. We manufacture, install & resurface artificial turfs & synthetic surfaces while completing the design from start to finish. We are currently in need of an Assets Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas.

The Assets Manager is responsible for purchasing/acquisition, [1] maintenance, repair, inventory, storage, and disposal of all company-owned transportation equipment and vehicles. This position coordinates fleet and equipment procurement, administers all aspects of fleet and heavy haul equipment asset management, and ensures federal and state regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides oversight and direction to all Asset and Maintenance employees.
• In collaboration with the Department Head, formulates, recommends, and implements asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manages the overall operational and financial responsibilities and activities of the Asset Division. Reviews and recommends changes to annual division budget.
• Ensures vehicles and heavy haul equipment are in proper working condition. Assures the safe operation of company vehicles and heavy haul equipment through adherence to a preventative maintenance schedule and replacement plan, including conformance with vehicle manufacturer’s service recommendations and bulletins. Reviews and continuously improves the preventative maintenance program. Oversees and performs routine vehicle inspection and maintains proper records.
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures for addressing repairs. As needed, recommends automotive or equipment repair shops to Hellas personnel. Communicates with repair shops and/or Element Fleet to review the shop’s findings and/or estimate, create a repair plan, approve repairs (in excess of $2,000 up to $10k),[1] or stress the urgency of expediting the repairs. Ensures vendor payment (i.e., Hellas COD or if an account exists).
• Regularly visits main repair shop and yard to inspect repair work. Ensures the shop is organized, safe, clean and OSHA compliant.
• Oversees fleet management solutions (currently, Element Fleet Management), including setting up vehicles in the inventory system, and issuing and managing fuel cards and driver ID numbers. If the Asset Department is unavailable or elects to not assist in the repair process, Element assists with vehicle maintenance.
• Maintains employee work schedules, including staff assignments, vacations and paid time off, staffing to cover for absenteeism, and planning for training as needed. Timely consults with the Assets and Transportation Director on employee relations issues.
• Ensures corporate compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and other federal, state, and local laws related to vehicles and heavy haul equipment, including that electronic log devices are installed and maintained. Is responsible for ensuring all assets are properly inspected, registered, titled, and insured.
• Recommends Asset staffing levels, and training and development opportunities for asset management and maintenance personnel. Responsible for monitoring all maintenance personnel’s required schooling and certification courses.
• Purchases GPS, ELD, and other routine safety supplies/tools. Responsible for securing AEDs, first aid kits, safety triangles, and fire extinguishers for new assets and assets that return from repairs.
• Oversees and participates in the production of Vehicle and Equipment Condition Reports for all company-owned vehicles and equipment.
• Prepares capital improvement request list for equipment repair/replacements.
• Provides assistance as needed when troubles develop on the road – finds qualified service to repair downed vehicle, obtains competitive bids for repairs, body work, etc.
• Oversees fleet supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are maintained at all times.
• Ensures that all parts and supplies are charged out to the proper repair order.
• Recommends purchase of shop equipment.
• Timely composes the International Fuel Tax Agreement Report and the Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Report (IRS form 2290) and submits to Director for approval.[3]

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position works in an office setting, frequently travels to remote locations, and infrequently visits construction jobsites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral communication (frequently required to talk and hear). This position is sometimes required to sit for an extended period of time (7+ hours), look at a computer screen for an extended period of time, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate a computer, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires color vision. This position is regularly required to lift 3 - 5 pounds and carry that weight up to 25 feet.

When visiting construction jobsites, this position may have additional physical requirements to include but are not limited to: climbing, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, and crouching. When visiting construction sites, this position may be exposed to hazardous/moving equipment or loud machinery, extreme outdoor temperatures, toxic/poisonous substances, biological/infectious agents, dust, fumes and/or allergens, vermin, insects, parasites, etc. This position will be required to wear the following protective clothing, gear, equipment and devices which include but are not limited to: safety vest, hard hat, glasses, and boots.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor degree is preferred; however, applicants can qualify with either a bachelor degree, four years of progressively responsible work experience, or a combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum five (5) years fleet management experience required.
• Possess a valid Class A or B commercial[4] driver license (CDL) or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of appointment to this position.
• State of Texas Vehicle Inspector License[5] or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of appointment to this position.
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting. Skills
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
• Superb fleet maintenance management skills. Strong knowledge and experience with shop and fleet support functions including operation, maintenance and repairs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication are a must, including the ability to interface with others, regardless of job title or position within the company, in a positive, approachable, and professional manner. This includes external contacts.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
• General knowledge of best management practices and employee relations.
• Proficient in operating a PC (desktop and/or laptop), which may include the following peripherals: mouse, keyboard, printer, scanner, monitor(s), and external drive/CD-ROM.

Extruder Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates and monitors extrusion line in a safe and efficient manner to produce a first quality product.
• Ensure quality is to the standard of Hellas Fibers. Responsibilities Operate and monitor Turf Extrusion line in a safe and efficient manner to produce a first quality product.
• Performs regular and routine inspection of the line to ensure the production of a first quality product.
• Taking corrective action when quality defects are encountered.
• Pulls lines thru the machine. (Through water tank, rolls, ovens, to the tack up winders, etc.) Doffs, ties, and inspects all finished packages for defects and is ready to twist.
• Repairs all breakouts and restarts line as soon as possible.
• Responsible for placing all recycled materials in the proper storage containers.

Twisting Operator

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures.

• Keep supervisor informed of any problems or quality issues, helping to minimize on-going defects.
