Business Development Manger

Hellas Construction, Inc., The #1 Sports Construction company in North America, is seeking to hire several Business Development Managers to join our team and increase our national presence in the markets highlighted above. We will train you how to be successful as part of the best Sports Construction Company in North America. Previous experience prospecting and selling in the sports and/or construction industry a plus. This position will be selling million-dollar synthetic turf solutions, running tracks, and more.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager (including but not limited to):

• Travel approximately 75% to aggressively drive and generate new business
• On average, 2-4 days on the road; first 3 weeks of each month (company vehicle and gas card provided)
• Target, qualify and pursue leads in accordance with company strategy and techniques
• Plan and perform sales calls, appointments, and site visits
• Implement effective business plans and strategies for assigned territory growth
• Learn and master value selling and ROI discussions to close new accounts
• Provides accurate weekly forecasting, including deal value, status, decision makers and steps to close
• Communicate regularly with Sales Management regarding performance, inquiries, competitive activities, complaints, market conditions or other pertinent conditions
• Serve as the liaison between the client, Marketing, Sales Management, and other departments
• Attend company meetings, trainings, tradeshows, events, and promotions
• Develop a solid understanding of product lines and competitive selling points

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• MVR report required to ensure clean driving record.
• Previous experience and success in prospecting, qualifying, and closing new accounts in a construction environment.is preferred. Previous sales experience is required. Landscaping sales experience a plus

Hellas offers an excellent compensation package for our sales staff. Base salary plus aggressive commission schedule. Project Coordinator


- Austin (TX)

Hellas Construction is currently looking to hire Project Coordinators to provide support in or Austin office and all satellite offices. As a Project Coordinator you will support the Construction Operations with day-to-day operational tasks. Primary responsibility will include heavy administrative coordination in putting together quotes, RFP's, RFQ's, and competitive sealed proposals to secure construction contracts with schools and municipalities. Attention to detail will be critical as well as meeting stringent deadlines. Hellas Construction manufactures, installs & resurfaces artificial & synthetic turf surfaces while completing the design from start to finish.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• The Project Coordinator will provide administrative support to internal and external project management team members.
• Collects, processes, inputs, organizes and files data and documentation from various sources and stakeholders as requested by project management team and/or as warranted by established business processes, in order to support the administrative, documentation, data, reporting, compliance and communications needs of projects.
• Processes information within specific timeframes in order to maintain efficiency and timeliness of documentation, submissions, communications and reporting
• Coordinates electronic submission of project documentation
• Prepares routine correspondence (such as letters, memos, meeting notes and proposals) and reviews outgoing materials for conformance with best practice standards and formats
• Supports project management during the award process, with deliverables such as issuing bond memos, setting up subcontractors in project management systems, granting system and website access to stakeholders, preparing and organizing various components of the contracts and processing final contract documentation
• Supports project management with project deliverables, such as managing information on the project website and electronically processing various documents (such as submittals, pay applications, bills of sale, compliance documentation, requests for information and change documents)
• Tracks and monitors and/or collaborates with project accounting to ensure necessary documentation (such as insurance certifications, bonds, lien waivers, affidavits, etc.) meets compliance requirements before releasing checks to contractors
• Key deliverables include creating and updating contact information and distribution lists, creating agendas and meeting notes, collecting and recording various project and compliance documents (such as insurance certificates, certified payrolls, affidavits, performance and payment bonds, etc.) and generating various reports, memos and letters
• Additional duties as requested.

Requirements:

Journeyman Electrician


- Travelling

Hellas Construction, the leader in Sports Construction is currently seeking a full time Journeyman Electrician! This position will be responsible for performing electrical work at multiple job sites. Basic duties will include installing conduit, pulling wire, troubleshooting issues, and making electrical connections in commercial and light industrial settings. You must be able to travel to job sites all over the United States. Lots of Texas based work, but we also have work across the US. Our corporate offices is located in Austin, Electrical Division is located in Seguin, Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot electrical problems.
• Replace defective breakers, switches, lights, ballasts and perform repairs on electrical equipment and components.
• Work with other facilities team members on remodeling and new construction projects to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
• Install manufacturing equipment and perform HVAC connections.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Four years apprenticeship in the electrical field and have, or be able to, acquire an electrical license.
• Journeyman’s Electrical License is a plus.
• Previous experience working on commercial jobs with other trades.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial wiring installation.

Project Cost Accountant

We are looking for a Project Cost Accountant to join our Team. This position will be primarily responsible for turf project cost accounting and other tasks as assigned.

Basic Function:

The project cost assistant position is accountable for entering and monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, coding and approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.

• Create project numbers and enter project information to computer system
• Review and approve time sheets for work related to a project

Civil Estimators

Hellas Construction, a self-performing Civil Sports Construction Company is looking for an experienced full-time Estimator to support our Corporate Headquarters. Qualified candidates will possess 4-5 prior years’ experience estimating civil construction projects. Projects range from $200K-$25M. Average project is typically $1.0-$1.5M.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Construction document review, performing accurate takeoff for civil construction related quantities
• Submitting requests for information to clarify existing conditions and proposed improvement, submission to responsible design professional in a timely manner
• Developing materials and subcontractor resources and relationships in all market area
• Building estimating; quantity takeoff, solicitation and scope review
• Analyzing and evaluating existing historical cost data to determine pricing
• Providing value engineering options to optimize successful contract award opportunities
• Preparing and soliciting bid requests for subcontractors
• Reviewing quotes for scope compliance and buyout opportunities

Qualifications::

• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 4-5+ years’ experience in Civil Construction Estimating to include concrete, asphalt, aggregates, fencing, electrical, landscaping, irrigation, liner and pipe etc.
• Storm water and sewer utilities highly preferred
• Must be able to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary for this role will be based on candidate’s experience. This position is a salary plus significant bonus opportunity on all work won. Some travel to job sites will be required.

$3,000 sign on bonus for qualified candidates.

Marketing Manager

Hellas Construction located in Austin, Texas is looking for a full time experienced Marketing Manager to handle all of its Marketing for a Specialty Sports Construction Company Solutions Based Provider. This will include Product Branding, Creative, Communications Campaigns and Press Releases.

This position will provide key leadership for the Marketing and Sales Support Department for Hellas Construction, a national sports construction firm serving K-12, collegiate, and professional sports teams. With vision, creativity and drive, this leader will plan and execute communications campaigns and sales materials that illuminate Hellas Construction’s marketplace dominance and position the company’s business development staff for continued growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works to understand corporate objectives and marketplace dynamics. Develops and ensures execution of marketing strategies that seize opportunity and drive growth.
• Nimbly leverages resources to elevate the Hellas Brand.
• Provides direction, coaching and develops the marketing team. Conducts regular performance assessments to review productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
• Works with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent required.
• Ten plus (10+) years management, marketing, and design experience, preferably at a startup or fast-growth company.
• Previous Agency background highly desired
• Supervisory Experience managing a team required
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting.
• Construction experience desired but not required

Skills:

• Strong knowledge and demonstrated history leveraging graphic design, videography, and other resources to make corporate and industry impact

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible to take ownership of the Project Profit and Loss and to ensure that all civil projects are well planned and successfully executed on time and under budget. Position will manage multiple assigned projects from award through project close-out. The project manager will also be responsible for understanding all aspects of operations. Works cohesively with Superintendents, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Engineers, Architects and Clients to ensure all project requirements are carried out successfully.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the assigned projects from start through closeout.
• Manages multiple projects requiring effective interaction and coordination with internal company departments as well as external parties.
• Responsible for the project setup, budget entry into company computer software, issuance of purchase orders for all materials and maintain project file.
• Complete responsibility of creating the master project schedule with proper project documents to owner (including but not limited to contracts, bonds, insurance, SWPPP documents, etc), subcontractor packets and preparation, processing and tracking of submittals and shop drawings.
• Attend all project, pre-construction, job site and substantial and final completion meetings as required
• Review Daily Time Sheets and Reports
• Maintain and keep current all construction documents (Submittals, RFI’s, change orders, etc)
• Conduct regular field inspections ensuring compliance with contract documents
• Prepare monthly cost to complete and projected profit against budget
• Reviews and approves subcontractor monthly payment requests and submit for payment
• Responsible for all aspects of the project closeout to include but not limited to project walk through with superintendent, internal punch list, completion of punch list, scheduling final walk through and submission of all close out documents

Qualifications and Skills:

• 1- 5+ years of experience as a project manager in a construction company. Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• Previous experience managing civil engineering projects - dirt, concrete, pipe, liner, underground earthwork etc.
• PMP certification a plus but not required
• Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Experience and knowledge of civil construction required
• Ability to manage 3 -4 projects in parallel ranging up to $5-$6M in total projects.
• Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Full understanding of Construction Math concepts

The Project Manager is responsible to take ownership of the Project Profit and Loss and to ensure that all civil projects are well planned and successfully executed on time and under budget. Position will manage multiple assigned projects from award through project close-out. The project manager will also be responsible for understanding all aspects of operations. Works cohesively with Superintendents, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Engineers, Architects and Clients to ensure all project requirements are carried out successfully.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the assigned projects from start through closeout.
• Manages multiple projects requiring effective interaction and coordination with internal company departments as well as external parties.
• Responsible for the project setup, budget entry into company computer software, issuance of purchase orders for all materials and maintain project file.
• Complete responsibility of creating the master project schedule with proper project documents to owner (including but not limited to contracts, bonds, insurance, SWPPP documents, etc), subcontractor packets and preparation, processing and tracking of submittals and shop drawings
• Attend all project, pre-construction, job site and substantial and final completion meetings as required
• Review Daily Time Sheets and Reports
• Maintain and keep current all construction documents (Submittals, RFI’s, change orders, etc)
• Conduct regular field inspections ensuring compliance with contract documents
• Prepare monthly cost to complete and projected profit against budget
• Reviews and approves subcontractor monthly payment requests and submit for payment
• Responsible for all aspects of the project closeout to include but not limited to project walk through with superintendent, internal punch list, completion of punch list, scheduling final walk through and submission of all close out documents

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a project manager in a construction company. Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• Previous experience managing civil engineering projects - dirt, concrete, pipe, liner, underground earthwork etc.
• PMP certification a plus but not required
• Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Experience and knowledge of civil construction required
• Ability to manage 3 -4 projects in parallel ranging up to $5-$6M in total projects.
• Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Full understanding of Construction Math concepts

You will be assigned a region/territory to support designated Business Development Managers to successfully procure work. Primary responsibility will include heavy administrative coordination in putting together quotes, RFP's, RFQ's, hard bids, competitive sealed proposals to secure construction contracts with schools and municipalities. • Work with Internal Superintendents and job crew to ensure they have all necessary materials, equipment and supplies needed on an on-going basis.
• Manage projects by evaluating resource utilization, constantly assessing changed conditions, regularly reviewing progress by examining project specifications and drawings, daily metrics/job boards, photo streams, and field reports. Actively record and report progress through accurate schedule updates.
• Prepare Weekly Job Reports (WJRs), conduct project level audits of all documentation, including job costs, POs, subcontracts, and schedule to better maximize efficiency in future projects.
• Invoice monthly for work completed. Prepare close out documentation for all projects.
• Review all projects completed in the last two months to clean out invalid Purchase Orders.
• Conduct a monthly Work In Process (WIP) review at the end of each month. Manage all monthly pay estimates including pencil, initial, and final submissions.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years previous experience as a project manager in a construction company. Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• PMP certification a plus but not required.
• Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication are a must, including the ability to interface with others, regardless of job title or position within the company, in a positive, approachable, and professional manner. This includes external contacts such as client-owners, vendors, and engineering professionals.

Asset Manager

We are currently in need of an Assets Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas.

The Assets Manager is responsible for purchasing/acquisition, [1] maintenance, repair, inventory, storage, and disposal of all company-owned transportation equipment and vehicles. This position coordinates fleet and equipment procurement, administers all aspects of fleet and heavy haul equipment asset management, and ensures federal and state regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides oversight and direction to all Asset and Maintenance employees.
• In collaboration with the Department Head, formulates, recommends, and implements asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manages the overall operational and financial responsibilities and activities of the Asset Division. Reviews and recommends changes to annual division budget.
• Ensures vehicles and heavy haul equipment are in proper working condition. Assures the safe operation of company vehicles and heavy haul equipment through adherence to a preventative maintenance schedule and replacement plan, including conformance with vehicle manufacturer’s service recommendations and bulletins. Reviews and continuously improves the preventative maintenance program. Oversees and performs routine vehicle inspection and maintains proper records.
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures for addressing repairs. As needed, recommends automotive or equipment repair shops to Hellas personnel. Communicates with repair shops and/or Element Fleet to review the shop’s findings and/or estimate, create a repair plan, approve repairs (in excess of $2,000 up to $10k),[1] or stress the urgency of expediting the repairs. Ensures vendor payment (i.e., Hellas COD or if an account exists).
• Regularly visits main repair shop and yard to inspect repair work. Ensures the shop is organized, safe, clean and OSHA compliant.
• Oversees fleet management solutions (currently, Element Fleet Management), including setting up vehicles in the inventory system, and issuing and managing fuel cards and driver ID numbers. If the Asset Department is unavailable or elects to not assist in the repair process, Element assists with vehicle maintenance.
• Maintains employee work schedules, including staff assignments, vacations and paid time off, staffing to cover for absenteeism, and planning for training as needed. Timely consults with the Assets and Transportation Director on employee relations issues.
• Ensures corporate compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and other federal, state, and local laws related to vehicles and heavy haul equipment, including that electronic log devices are installed and maintained. Is responsible for ensuring all assets are properly inspected, registered, titled, and insured.
• Recommends Asset staffing levels, and training and development opportunities for asset management and maintenance personnel. Responsible for monitoring all maintenance personnel’s required schooling and certification courses.
• Purchases GPS, ELD, and other routine safety supplies/tools. Responsible for securing AEDs, first aid kits, safety triangles, and fire extinguishers for new assets and assets that return from repairs.
• Oversees and participates in the production of Vehicle and Equipment Condition Reports for all company-owned vehicles and equipment.
• Prepares capital improvement request list for equipment repair/replacements.
• Provides assistance as needed when troubles develop on the road – finds qualified service to repair downed vehicle, obtains competitive bids for repairs, body work, etc.
• Oversees fleet supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are maintained at all times.
• Ensures that all parts and supplies are charged out to the proper repair order.
• Recommends purchase of shop equipment.
• Timely composes the International Fuel Tax Agreement Report and the Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Report (IRS form 2290) and submits to Director for approval.[3]

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position works in an office setting, frequently travels to remote locations, and infrequently visits construction jobsites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral communication (frequently required to talk and hear). This position is sometimes required to sit for an extended period of time (7+ hours), look at a computer screen for an extended period of time, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate a computer, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
