About
Austin, TX (Feb 1, 2018) –
Hellas Construction today announced the promotion of Tyler Pufahl to Chief Estimator. His vast amount of knowledge in estimating and project management, along with a relentless dedication to his team has helped him earn this new position. He will be leading and coaching a team of estimators responsible for estimating the costs of components, labor, and service needed to complete each Hellas sports construction project.
“He is a workhorse and another of our most dedicated employees,” said President and CEO Reed J. Seaton. “He brings a strong work ethic and a broad knowledge of all that is involved in the construction process to the team. He is always open to learning and striving to be better. We are glad to have him on our team.”
Mr. Pufahl’s broad knowledge of different scopes of work in the construction industry enabled him to join Hellas Construction in June of 2013 as Senior Estimator, relocating his family from Kansas to take on the new challenge of working in the sports construction field.
“I was working for a small family-owned construction company and this was an opportunity to be a part of a nationwide company and to see if I had what it takes to succeed,” Pufahl said. “I grew up participating in various sports and with my background in construction, I felt like it was a great fit. I was intrigued by the opportunity.”
“It was difficult to leave home, but I was able to better provide for my family here in Texas, while still begin able to challenge myself and continue to learn in an industry that I love,” Pufahl said.
He feels like his success at Hellas is due in part to his continuous drive to keep improving. He has advice for others trying to find ways to improve. “Don’t rely on the compliments of others to make you further your skills and love your job. Instead work hard, keep learning, and keep challenging yourself,” said Pufahl. “Facing and then meeting challenges is so much more rewarding. You must never stop improving or challenging yourself.”
Pufahl is excited about his new position and the new opportunity to teach and help others.
“I always wanted to be a teacher growing up. I feel like being in a position to teach is better than being in a position of power. It’s a new challenge and I love challenges,” Pufahl said.
